David is the son of former BGFM Global missionaries Dale & Carol Johnson, and was saved at an early age. Connie is Brazilian, and came to Christ through the ministry of missionaries to her hometown in her early teens. Both soon began serving the Lord in their own locations, but first met in 1974. They were married June 5, 1976, choosing Psalm 126:3 as their wedding verse, “The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” David and Connie were accepted as missionaries with BGFM Global in September 1977, and arrived in Brazil October 1978.
