We were accepted by Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission in June of 1975 and arrived on the field in July of 1977.

We were in language school from August 1977 through May 1978.

Our first church planting ministry (1978-1980) was in the small towns of Bela Vista, and Villa Formosa.  During this time we also helped with camp.

From 1981- 1991 we served in a church plant ministry in the town of Santa Quiteria.  We are grateful that now there is a Brazilian pastor at that church.

For several years beginning in 1992 Al served as Academic Dean and then Dean of Students at the SIBIMA Seminary in Fortaleza. He continues on the Board of Directors.

During the years 1992-2006 we were involved in church planting at the  Planalto Bible Church. Now there are two Brazilian pastors serving there and three sister works have been started.

In 2006 we began a new church plant, New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Fortaleza. We have seen God at work as many Brazilians have been very active since the beginning.

Another ministry we are involved in is the New Hope Bible Training Center in the mountain region town of Pacoti. We have retreats for couples, youth, and families. Praise the Lord for those that have trusted the Lord as Savior during the various retreats.

We are also active in Home Bible studies both in Fortaleza and Pacoti and after five years there are eight new believers in Pacoti.

We have three children.  Marvin lives in Dacula, Georgia, Lance resides in Kansas City, MO and Alisa is a missionary with BGFM in Brazil.
