Both Jonathan and Denielle grew up in Christian homes where their parents taught them the truths of God’s Word and the grace of Jesus Christ. At young ages, God called them to place their personal faith in Jesus Christ alone. Growing up in Christian homes, their early lives were much alike, though in vastly different contexts. Denielle lived her whole life in Northern Minnesota. Jonathan had the privilege of spending four years of his childhood in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa when his family served with New Tribes Mission. God began to prepare their hearts for overseas missions while they attended Cornerstone Bible Institute in Hot Springs, South Dakota. They got married in 2005 and God has given them two children, ElliAnna (January 2008) and Carter (October 2010).
Jon, Denielle and ElliAnna moved to Fortaleza, CE in January 2009 where they started language school. In July 2009 they moved to Rio Grande do Sul to work with BGFM’s team of missionaries in South Brazil. After finishing language school, they have begun to get involved with various types of ministries including Bible Studies, personal discipleship, youth ministries, music ministries, leadership training, and parenting, all with the goal of seeing churches established in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Jonathan and Denielle live in Estância Velha.
