David & Connie Johnson were married June 5, 1976. Their wedding verse, Psalm 126:3, reflects a deep gratitude to God: “The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” David and Connie were accepted as missionaries with the BGFM in September 1977, and arrived in Brazil October 1978. Language school was waived, since he grew up on the mission field with parents Dale and Carol Johnson, and she is Brazilian.

MINISTRY GOALS
Their goals at the most recent ministry location, Pacajus, were to establish a congregation, purchase land for a building, and leave a Brazilian pastor. Praise God for helping reach these three goals. It was wonderful to see the Word of God transforming lives, bringing salvation. A new church-planting endeavor has many challenges. The small congregation was left under the responsbility of Claudio Queiroz, but the believers have been reduced to a handful. Some moved away, and for varous reasons most of the others have scattered. Pray that God will restore this congregation, providing precious souls to fill their building. We are asking the Lord to provide leadership for that struggling church plant, that it will grow, and eventually become self-supporting.
David & Connie's period of home assignment is nearly over now, after reporting to supporting churches, and encouraging still others to pray and stand with them. They return to the field of Brazil on June 1st, motivated by Paul’s strong challenge in I Corinthians 15:34, "...some do not have the knowledge of God." You are invited to join them, upholding them in prayer, touching lives in Brazil with the Gospel of Christ.
