Our church
We arrived in Fortaleza, Brazil in October of 2003. After finishing language school, we moved to the city of Morada Nova in the state of Ceara. Morada Nova has approximately 50,000 people and had no solid Bible teaching church. By God's grace, the Morada Nova Bible Church began. We were involved in teaching children, sharing responsibilities at the church and helped establish and lead Bible studies. There are currently over fifteen believers in our congregation. Pray that many more will put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
In the Spring of 2011, the Board of Directors of BGFM approached us about the possibility of returning to the States to assume the responsibilities of the Financial Director of the mission. This need, coupled with a family health issue, has brought us to our current ministry.
In August of 2011, we made the move to Springfield, Illinois to begin this new ministry. Chris's new position involves the administrative oversight of all funds donated and disbursed to BGFM's missionaries and ministries in Brazil, along with insuring that the fiscal responsiblites of the mission remain above reproach. This ministry requires hours of communication with the field and donors, as well as daily challenges in the areas of problem-solving and technical support of the Home Office.
Jana is involved in homeschooling our children and is enjoying learning her way around the city. Our kids are enjoying getting to know other kids their age at our new home church. They are adjusting well, though they miss their friends from Brazil. Please pray with us in our new ministries, that God will continue to use us to further the gospel.
